Since its formation in 1981 the Saskatoon Brass Band has striven to serve the greater Saskatoon community while promoting the British Brass Band tradition.

Makeup and repertoire:  Our bands use the standard brass band instrumentation of 25 brass musicians playing Eb and Bb cornets, flugelhorn, Eb alto horns, baritones, euphoniums, tenor and bass trombones, and Eb and Bb basses, plus percussion.  The repertoire is very diverse, including marches, classical transcriptions, hymns and other choral works, original brass compositions, rock, jazz, and other musical traditions. Tasks typically taken on by violins or woodwinds in an orchestra are covered by brass, meaning that technical and solistic skills need to be well developed. That musical challenge is what attracts many players to our organization.

Diversity and Development:  Saskatoon Brass Band Inc. offers multiple playing environments for players of diverse backgrounds and abilities to both enjoy themselves and develop as musicians and community members. We are always interested in welcoming new players.
