Alma Flamenca is one of Saskatoon’s only music and dance organizations dedicated entirely to Flamenco, intended to teach children and adults while promoting and inspiring the art in Saskatoon.
Founded by the artistic director, Kari Alba in 2000, Alma Flamenca is responsible for bringing International and Spanish artists to Canada to train and perform with its members. ALBA is one of Saskatoon’s pioneer Flamenco Dance Artists. She has lived and trained in Spain cumulatively for over 4 years; attended the Teacher Specialization certification at La Fundacion Cristina Heeren Flamenco in Seville, Spain, been invited to perform three times at the Vancouver International Flamenco Festival and performed internationally and nationally with distinguished flamenco professionals such as Celedonio Garrido (Spain), Ricardo Diaz (SF USA/Spain), Mercedes Amaya (Mexico/Spain), Manuel Tañe (Spain), and Juan Martin (Spain).
