Holosy Choir

Established in 2004 as an activity of the Saskatoon branch of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, the choir performs regularly at many community events including Folkfest, Ukrainian Day in the Park, and the Festival of Trees. The choir also performs, whenever possible, at senior citizens’ residences around the city and area. We are especially happy to be taking part once again in this multi-cultural event – a place where Canadians of many backgrounds come to share their heritage and traditions.

With the help of technology, the group was able to keep singing throughout the worst of the pandemic lockdowns, bringing hope and lifting people’s spirits with the production of a number of virtual choir projects and the establishing of our own Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@holosychoir8857

In April of 2022, we were finally able to conclude a very special project – the filming of five pieces by the popular Ukrainian singer/songwriter, Volodymyr Ivasiuk. The choir gratefully acknowledges the assistance of the Worobetz Foundation in funding our current rehearsal space, and also the Ukrainian Canadian Congress of Saskatchewan, and the Shevchenko Foundation for their generous support through the disruptions and difficulties brought on by Covid.
