The Saskatoon Youth Jazz Orchestra (SYJO) is the Saskatoon Jazz Orchestra’s companion orchestra consisting of up-and-coming, student-aged musicians. Directed by Nick Fanner, the SYJO is composed of musicians selected each year following an auditions process held in the early fall. The orchestra regularly performs at Saskatoon Jazz Orchestra concerts as well as the Saskatchewan Jazz Festival.
Welcome to the 2023 Heritage Festival of Saskatoon, celebrating Saskatoon and area’s civic, natural, cultural, and artistic heritage, and featuring events on Feb 12, 15, and 16th.
This year’s festival theme is The River. An element of our natural heritage, it is ever flowing, both constant and changing. For as long as people have been, and will be here, their activity is reflected in its waters.

The Heritage Festival of Saskatoon is held on Treaty Six Territory and the Homeland of the Métis. This is the traditional territory of the Cree, Saulteaux, Dene, Dakota and Nakota First Nations and the Métis people.
