LELEKA UKRAINIAN DANCE ENSEMBLE:

Leleka Ukrainian Dance Ensemble is under the artistic direction of Valentyna Matyushenko from Kyiv, Ukraine. The ensemble dances at events and festivals around Saskatoon, including Nuit Blanche, WEGO, Ukrainian Day in the Park, and Samosa Festival. Most recently, they danced at the Ukrainian Museum of Canada in Saskatoon.

This past October their dancers travelled to Marrakech to dance at World Folklore Days, the biggest international folkdance festival on the African continent.  A little closer to home this past year, they’ve also danced at the 51st annual Pysanka Festival in Vegreville, Alberta, and at the Prince Albert Barveenok Ukrainian Dance Festival.

Looking to dive into the world of Ukrainian dance? They welcome you to join them on this dance adventure with classes for kids and adults — the perfect way to learn, practice, and experience the beauty and excitement of this rich tradition! CONCORDIA JUNIOR ALPENROSE DANCERS:

The Concordia Junior Alpenrose Dancers were founded in 2014 by two families looking for a way to celebrate their German Heritage in a social and relaxed atmosphere. Our goal has always been to provide an affordable option for families interested in a dance activity. With our focus on Fun, Friendships, Culture and Community, we can be found performing at events such as the Heritage Festival, Maifest and Folkfest or for a variety of Senior’s groups.

We currently have children and teens, ages 3-18, that practice with us weekly. If you are interested in joining us or even just watching a practice, check us out on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/juniorgermandancers.
