Espace Immigration Area

Welcome to the Espace Immigration Area in Gallery 2!

For the first time at the Heritage Festival of Saskatoon, we have created an area dedicated to immigration to showcase how francophone and anglophone immigration has contributed, and continues to contribute, to the province’s heritage.

The Immigration Area, spearheaded by the Réseau en immigration francophone de la Saskatchewan (RIF-SK), will bring together the Global Gathering Place Saskatoon, International Women of Saskatoon, the Regina Region Local Immigration Partnership (RRLIP), the Société historique de la Saskatchewan (SHS), RIF-SK, and Saskatoon Open Door Society (SODS).

The Immigration Area will offer, in both official languages, two exhibits linking the past and future of immigration, as well as activities for youth and adults. It will also be an occasion to showcase the partner organizations’ engagement in the matters of diversity and immigration.

This initiative fits into the promotion of services of the partner organizations, and the public’s awareness of the challenges in immigration in Saskatchewan.  Enjoy this special area!
